Day 3 Camp Nou & beach

This morning we headed off to Camp Nou, home of FC Barcelona. There was generally much excitement as we got off the bus tho Laurie did ask if they could just wait in the cafe! Pupils went round the stadium at various speeds and varying amounts of money were spent in the shop. Tops with names on the back all round with some groups of friends, parents be warned! Back to the hotel for a quick change before we headed to the beach with a picnic lunch. (There are no pupils in our photo here!)
The pupils are very proud of themselves as they order in Spanish. A very mean Mrs Salt has also made them explain problems to reception in Spanish!

Day 2 aquarium

In the afternoon we head to the aquarium. Most people's favourite bit is the moving walkway in the tunnel, under the shark tank. We spend a couple of hours there and at Maremagnum before heading back to the hotel. The braver ones are in the pool now before dinner and the mini disco - videos to follow if we have any talent worthy of BGT!
Word of the day is el tiburón (shark)

Day 2 City tour

A buffet breakfast at 8am and we're on the coach heading into Barcelona. Our guide Michael is English and he tells us bits and pieces about the towns we pass through and the history of Barcelona and the province. Lewis's music provides the backdrop when the guide is not speaking, much to Mr Smyth's disgust!
We pass a protest walk by a trade union about the cuts in Spain due to the economy, passing many beautiful buildings and landmarks before stopping at the Olympic Stadium where the 1992 Games were held.
We then go to Parc Guell, passing some amazing houses en route, and admire Gaudi's amazing artwork before heading to the Sagrada Familia. Off to the aquarium now after a successful rescue mission for Emma's iPhone!

Day 1 continued..

A quick trip down to the beach and suddenly all 40 pupils have had a dip in the Med, after football and frisbee. Lights out shortly for a busy day tomorrow

Day 1

We arrived safely and headed to Barcelona's Maremagnum in the port area for a late lunch before going up to the Castel de Montjuic by cable car. We spent a while looking at the various amazing views before walking down to meet our coach driver to head to Salou.
All settled in and a buffet dinner consumed (chips for some, five course for others!) before we head down now to the beach. Today's word of the day is el funicular (cable car)
