As we gave out these awards, we were quick to praise the whole group for how well behaved they have been this week, how brilliantly they have moved around the hotel and in the dining buffet area, and for making a massive effort with their Spanish. It has been a joy to bring these pupils away this week, just today to go…

Day 4 evening Grosvenor Games

For our last night in Salou, we held the Grosvenor Games down at the beach. Events included a skipping relay, a version of an egg and spoon relay, a limbo competition, a high jump competition, a duck race, a ‘bury someone up to their knees’ race and a sprint relay. The pimples seem to enjoy it, the teachers laughed till they cried and half the people dying at the beach seem to spectate it at some stage during the procedures. The PE staff would definitely spot some talent amongst this sporty lot 👏 Team Sslt were the eventual winners but it was very close. Afterwards, the pupils went in for a night dip before heading back to the hotel. An excellent day and a brilliant evening to finish off our penultimate day of the trip.

Day 4 Port Aventura

A hot and adrenaline-filled day at the theme park today. The most popular rides for the more adventurous of the group were the Furious Baco, Shambala and Dragon Khan rollercoasters, but the log flume and Tutuki Splash were also firm favourites.
A quick dip in the pool before dinner was much appreciated.

Day 3 Tarragona y la playa

This morning we visited the beautiful nearby town of Tarragona, one of the earliest Roman settlements in Spain. It is famous for its impressive Roman remains, including the amphitheatre, circus, city walls and aqueduct. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000 and is also famous for its castells, the famous human towers.

After visiting the amphitheatre and Circ Pretori, the pupils took part in a group selfie challenge, inspired by our amigos in Ballyclare High. The pupils threw themselves into the challenge, to the astonishment and delight of local shopkeepers and dog walkers who ended up featuring in the photos.

After a quick lunch, we headed to the beach, for a brilliant afternoon swimming in the sea
