The Spanish Department has organised a study trip to Granada, Spain, in September 2012 with a Spanish language school. The trip is initially open to pupils in next year’s Form 3, Form 4 and Sixth Form.
You will stay in pairs with Spanish families, and as well as daily morning lessons in small groups with a native Spanish teacher there will be afternoon activities including a tour of Granada, a visit to the Alhambra palace as well as cultural activities.
Please see any Spanish teacher for a letter and an envelope.

Canning House is delighted to announce the launch of the 2012 Essay Competition in Spanish and Portuguese language.
The Competition is open to all students in the UK aged 17-19 (on August 31st 2012). The set question for this year's Essay Competition is:
"Choose an aspect of contemporary Latin America and explain why you find it of interest".
The title has been chosen to allow entrants the freedom to write on a theme they are truly passionate about. Participants can choose to write on any aspect of contemporary Latin America - encompassing culture, politics, society, economics, or sport. Students can focus on an outstanding individual, a specific country, or examine the region as a whole.
Prizes for the best entries
This year's prizes include return flights to Latin America (kindly donated by Iberia for the Spanish language Competition, and The Baroness Hooper for the Portuguese language Competition). The deadline for submissions is 31st January 2012.
A group of Sixth Formers are going to follow a Language Leaders course in Grosvenor over the next two terms. They will learn how to teach, create resources, plan lessons and then go out to primary schools to teach. We look forward to seeing their progress.
After much thought, the Grosvenor Grammar School Spanish departmental blog will now be only found here. The former Typepad posts can be found here
